Aybüke Yılmazer

Aybüke Yılmazer is a multimedia artist and designer.

Working across traditional and contemporary methods, she actively works in motion graphics design alongside her author-driven animated films, creating visually engaging and concept-driven moving image work.

Born in Turkey, Yılmazer grew up experiencing multiple branches of art such as painting, dance, music, and theater. Art became her way of communication and guided her interest in design. Yılmazer received her bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Bilkent University in Turkey, where she learned the principles of effective visual communication. She went on to work as a motion designer at advertising agencies in Istanbul, where introducing a temporal dimension into her design practice deepened her interest in animation and led her to earn a master's degree in Film and Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Her films have been exhibited at multiple international festivals, including Personal Structures in 2026 Venice Art Biennale. She is currently based in New York, where she continues to work in the field. Her projects are enhanced by interknitting cultural differences from the Turkish and American contexts she has experienced.
